What’s On My Bookshelf
Turning Pages, Shifting Mindsets: What I’m Reading Right Now
Books have always grounded me. Whether I’m growing, re-centering, or simply escaping for a while, reading has this way of helping me reset.
Right now, my bookshelf is a mix of mindset and motivation… with a few twisty thrillers thrown in for fun.
I recently picked up The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins, again. It’s one of those books that hits a little differently every time. The reminder that I don’t need to manage how others feel about me has been especially powerful lately. One line that stuck with me: “Your peace is not found in other people’s approval. It’s found in letting them.” A lesson I’m still learning and one I’m grateful to practice.
I also return often to Fear is My Homeboy by Judi Holler. It’s part pep talk, part permission slip. I can feel her energy leap off the page and fill me with the confidence I need… especially when imposter syndrome tries to sneak in. Her voice reminds me that fear doesn’t need to be the enemy. It can be the push I need.
Of course, I’m also someone who loves a good page-turner, and Frieda McFadden has become my go-to when I need to unplug and unwind. I started with The Housemaid series and haven’t stopped reaching for the next one since. Her books are fast-paced, full of jaw-dropping twists, and always easy to get lost in. The kind of stories that make you say “just one more chapter” until you’ve finished the whole thing and it’s 1:30 a.m.
This season of building something new has asked a lot of me, and I’m so thankful for the stories, lessons, and escapes that books continue to give.
Reading can be such a personal journey, but I believe it’s even better when we share the gems we find. If something has inspired or entertained you recently, let me know! I’d love to add it to my “to be read” pile. Feel free to reach out via DM or email—sharing stories is one of my favorite ways to connect.
